Solution of High-Precision Automatic Control of Venous

MORE DETAIL

Extracorporeal circulation (CPB) equipment temporarily replaces cardiopulmonary function during cardiac surgery to maintain systemic circulation. During cardiac extracorporeal circulation surgery, the patient's venous blood needs to be drawn out of the body, oxygenated by the extracorporeal circulation machine, and then returned to the body's arterial pipeline, venous return tube, left atrial drainage tube, intracardiac suction tube, ordinary suction tube and other pipelines, and blood flow, venous reservoir level, oxygen concentration, oxygen blood flow and blood temperature are maintained.

The control requirements for blood flow rate are very high. Any slight error will cause circulation disorders and a large number of air embolisms, leading to serious medical accidents.

During the specific operation of CPB, the perfusionist needs to quickly and accurately operate three devices (venous side blocker, arterial side blocker and centrifugal pump) to adjust the blood flow rate to the desired target value. Improper operation will cause air embolism and change the venous blood storage level, resulting in unexpected blood pressure fluctuations, which puts the patient in danger.

Therefore, it is necessary to develop a device that helps to automatically adjust the blood flow rate to improve the level of automated control and reduce the workload of perfusionists.

In order to solve the nonlinear problem caused by the clamp form, in this case, we use KaoLu’s Proportional Pinch Valve.
KaoLu’s Proportional Pinch Valve have very high linearity, fast response speed and different aperture sizes. They are often used for precise regulation of vacuum, pressure and flow of gas and liquid media.

Although the use of electric needle valves can well solve the control accuracy problem caused by the nonlinearity of pinch valve, the important problem of electric needle valve is that it needs to contact the fluid medium to be regulated, and cannot be in contact with the fluid medium like KaoLu’s Proportional Pinch Valve.

By using KaoLu’s Proportional Pinch Valve to this solution, the venous and arterial blood flow control during extracorporeal circulation can be truly realized with high-precision automatic control, which can meet the needs of clinical applications and research while reducing medical accidents and the difficulty of operation for perfusionists.
